EDUCATION
An important part of SURVIVORS' mission is to raise awareness among the general public and professional communities about the effects of torture and the needs of torture survivors. To meet this goal, SURVIVORS' staff frequently presents information about torture at local universities, professional organizations, religious groups and service clubs. In addition, SURVIVORS provides training to professionals who have the opportunity to work with torture survivors in legal, medical, mental health, social service and other community settings.
To invite a SURVIVORS' staff member to speak to your organization, please contact Kathi Anderson at (619) 278-2407.
